    Thanks! :-) I have been reading about and it looks to be a Fasciation issue. So strange!!

    Fasciation happens with other plants too. Weird.

    Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Thank you all for your comments,sorry I haven't replied I have limited access to the internet, I have cut off the large stalks which were going to seed and have given all these little ones a chance to flourish
