My friend is wondering if this is something  she p!anted or if it's a weed. I know I've seen it before but can't think where or what.

No smell and a very thick stem. imageimage

Not shasta.  I've been out weeding round mine today, wrong leaves!  It's annoying me, I recognise it but I can't place it!

Thank you so much folks. I won't take the credit when I tell my friend.  It's funny because everyone I have asked recognised it but couldn't name it.  MELIANTHUS it is then, Dovefromabove. ?

The mystery is solved now that the plant has flowered. Stem over 6ft tall and lots of buds away to flower. It's a ....... Scabious!image

Beautiful. Leaves were very confusing. This one is Cephalaria Gigantea, the giant scabious.
