New petrol strimmer use
Hi there. This is my first post so please bare with me. I have just bought myself a new petrol strimmer (McCulloch T26 CS) and just wondering if anyone has used one of these before. I am a complete noob when it comes to gardening and gardening tools and am only used to electric models. I purchased 4ltrs of unleaded petrol and bought a McCulloch starter kit that included mixing bottle, goggles, extra line and a 100mlbottle of 2 stroke oil. I read on the McCulloch website that mixing should involve 1ltr of petrol and then filling with 2 stroke oil to the 40:1 line. With the bottle of 2 stroke oil that came in the pack, it states to fill to the 50:1 line so I'm slightly confused on which instructions I should be using. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't want any major accidents or problems arising.

But why would the bottle state something different to the manual as even my neighbour who works for serco (grass cutting) said to do 50:1 as he does 25:1. (Only asked him after I created the post as wife reminded me)
I would go with McCullochs instructions. Email them if in any doubt.
Both the manual and 2 stroke oil are from McCulloch. Think I should contact them really as already made the mixture of 50:1 and filled the tank. Now I'm more confused than before starting lol
It's entirely possible that McCulloch have made more than one 2 stroke engine and one uses 40:1 and the other 50:1. As you purchased new I would expect it to come with an user manual - what does it say in there?
It states 40:1 in the manual
Assuming Dazzyboy is a fella, like me, he probably hadn't bothered to RTFM until it was suggested
