staghorn sumac grey leaves

My staghorn sumac has been performing well for 20 years, however this year the new growth has wilted and is grey coloured. There is a little fresh new leaf growth that looks healthy on a few of the branches but some are still dead looking. Also the usual amount of annoying suckers are weak and less prolific. Anyone have any idea what is going on?
