We recently had this plant donated to our school, which I believe to be a herb and possibly has the word 'horse' in its name. Can anyone please help me out so that we can label it?
Never heard of horse comfrey Ordinary comfrey is used as a herbal remedy for some horse ailments, but comfrey leaves don't look like that.
Horse radish grows into quite a big plant over time, it's a bit of a spreader and roots deeply so is best contained in some way. The crushed leaves should be quite pungent and of course, the smell from the roots when you're grating a piece to make horseradish sauce will sting the eyes a bit.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
