How do I use seaweed food?
Hi I recently got my self some seaweed plant food and just wondering what's the best way to use it? Have heard Monty talking about a foliar feed is that diluted in a spray then into leaves etc? It wasn't cheap and I want to get the best out of it. Any advice gratefully received thanks!

Thanks Philippa it just says to dilute on bottle a bit like tomato food but I somehow got the impression you sprayed it onto leaves?
It's good stuff seaweed. I use seaweed extract and seaweed meal.
It's not a fertilizer so can be used from the seedling stage (more dilute) to mature plants. It gives tomato seedlings a good boost.
It's got lots of micro minerals that are very beneficial to the plant and often lacking in compost and soil.
It won't make your plants shoot up, but it will make them sturdier and healthier, and therefore more prolific.
You can use it as a soil drench from a watering can, or spray it on the leaves - which uses less so is cheaper, but as said above not when the sun is out,and some plants don't like wet leaves.
Can't recommend the stuff enough
I buy 2.5L from Amaz.. for £15 - it'll last most of the saeson

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.
Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
