New Dahlia Care
My dahlia tubers have sprouted but as a single stem.
Should I cut this off (and propogate) to encourage it to bush out?
Thanks for any tips

If you've got a single shoot coming from a tuber, then I wouldn't advise cutting it off.
If you want it to bush out, wait for 2-3 pairs of leaves on the stem then pinch out the growing tip.
The single shoot is connected to the tuber which is what is supplying food for the shoot. If you cut it off, you could propagate it as a cutting, but then you're wasting all the food that has built up in the tuber last year, so plant the whole thing, then pinch out the top.

I agree with Pete, if you were to grow them from seeds, you only get one shoot that you keep pinching out until you get a good plant.
