I am such an idiot!! My courgette plants are now outside in little greenhouses and I have been checking every day and worrying because the little fruits aren't turning green. What had I done wrong? Today I discovered they are of the yellow fruit variety!! Doh image

lol: we all make  mistakes. I have both the green and yellow courgette. They have the male flowers but no female flowers yet.

    hehe, easy mistake to make!

I gave my friend some lemon drop tomato plants last year and told him numerous times they would ripen to a yellow colour. When I went over in the autumn he had an absolute stash of yellow tomatoes ready to pick. He said he had been waiting ages for them to turn red!!

So pleased it's not just me lol. At least I know that one of my tomato plants will stay green and won't make the same mistake on that lol image

Hi pinkmagpie.  I've read not to let them dry out so I've been watering daily in this dry weather.  I stick a finger in the soil (up to the knuckle) to see how dry it is below the top layer.   It's all still a bit trial and error for me image,  one of my plants is showing signs of powdery mildew on the leaves, but the other two are fine.  I picked a couple of 4" fruits on Thursday and had them in a stir fry.  I'm growing a yellow one called "gold rush".  Here are my plants today image
