Can I Move My Lavender?

RachelKozRachelKoz Posts: 1

Hi all.

I'm still fairly new to gardening and am not yet convinced I have anything resembling a green thumb, but I'm trying.

Last year, near the end of summer I planted out some lavender in what turned out to be a very shady spot. Some of the plants seem to be doing ok, but the ones at the back are struggling. Would they survive being transplanted into a large pot in a much sunnier part of the garden?

Any and all advice welcome, including what to replace the lavender with. Something bee-friendly that likes shade and poor draining soil would be ideal.

Thanks.

Lavenders can be moved. If they're leggy or very straggly, you can cut them down and I'm sure in time the leaves will come back once it's put in a nice dry sunny spot. Depends how much sun you get but you could try Salvia Officinalis in that spot you are having trouble with. With the soil, poor draining soil could be due to being near bog areas or lack of conditioning in the soil. If that could be rectified, you may find more plants to choose from.
