Help!

Can anyone give me a good remedy for the stupid black flies?, from what I've been reading it might be fungus gnats. I think they came in on a store bought basil and they're now everywhere. I bought lavender plug plants I've potted on, and seem to now be thriving off them. I kept them dry to the point that the lavender were struggling so I watered them last night and they've boomed overnight. I have the sticky tape things hanging up I've tried water and washing liquid but they're more flying about and driving me insane. It's also indoors, I was planning on moving them to the mini greenhouse but don't want them in the greenhouse incase they get worse in there.

There are biological controls available for fungus gnats.

    See the following:

Anything that can be done indoors?

I would imagine that you mightΒ be able to use certain of the biological controls indoors - you could always email a supplier and ask.

I find a vacuum cleaner quite useful in reducing the numbers, but you have to be careful not to damage the plants. I use just the hose nozzle and shield it with my fingers near the leaves, just nudge the plant to move them, and you can also pick them off one by one when they settle, which they do often as they are not strong fliers!
