Transplanting yucca

Hi. I'd like to transplant a mature yucca because I want he height now for a home tour coming up. I wasn't able to get an entire root ball , had to chop the trunk that was lying on the surface and accidentally cut the tap root.  Will it still live?  Any recommendations for treatments to the root/ trunk to help it out?  It is an off shoot of the original.
