    Yes I am building the slate sculpture myself using slate from the roof of  my cottage which is in the process of being reslated.  It is going to be a tall conical kinda thing with the tiers being the petals of a daisy, except in slate of course. I have already had a go at making daisy petals from some slates - each slate is a petal - and I think it is a goer.  Gorilla glue to the ready. I hope it will be about 4-5 feet high when finished.

    Will you let it get mossy or keep it clean?

    Obelixx I will have to put a lot of thought into the planting .  I love the idea of playing with texture and form. But that's a long way yet!  I'm still at the cutting back the ivy  and finding the path stage image

    I like the idea of random plants popping up between the stones even though it will mean weeding. I must get rid of the perennial weeds thoughimage
