It looks like Cinquefoil. Did you see any yellow flowers on them? What kind of weed killer did you use? It may take a bit of time, especially if you have lots of it. Also, bear in mind the time of year, one treatment does not guarantee success. Especially the tap root type.
Borderline is spot-on. It's Creeping Cinquefoil and a lot of hardware store weedkiller sprays that are selective i.e. don't harm grass but kill off broadleaf plants/weeds, are often ineffective against tap root weeds.
Dandelions for instance seem to die off after a week or two but often reappear with vigour after they've recovered from doses - and it can take several doses to finish them off completely. Feed and weed is usually far more effective with lawn weeds but will make your grass grow at an astonishing rate and any dead weeds or moss will leave black patches.
Verdone is probably the best widely available selective weed killer without spending a fortune. But whatever you use will take a while to work.
