Red Spots on Leaves - What's at work?

Can anyone shed some light on what might be going on here? Red spots on the leaves of my Pieris and Persicaria. Spots on my Hydrangea too although brown rather than red. The Pieris and Persicaria are sited in the same section of the border with the Hydrangea a few metres further down.imageimageimageimage

    Persicaria: Mine is doing that too! I wondered if it had too much rain?

    Many Persicarias have spotted foliage.  :)

    I think the OP's would have had some rain by now - the query's four years old  ;)
    Rain doesn't affect them in any way.  :)  
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....



    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
