Nicotiana alata 'Grandiflora'

Tina_i_amTina_i_am Posts: 173

Hello,

For the first time, I've sown some Nicotiana alata 'Grandiflora.' The seedlings are all getting large in their individual pots. It's probably time to think about potting them on. My question is...do I put a few, 5-9, in a large pot or a single seedling in a large pot? The pot I have in mind is 40cm across.

Thanks for reading x

I wouldn't put a seedling in a large pot, pot them on separately in a small pots, then pot on gradually as they fill the pots, when you have strong plant, with the roots filling a 4" pot,  then put one in your big pot. They grow big, it will need watering regularly, they are better in the open ground as Philippa says.

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
