Dead heading Lavender
I've just bought a lavender and planted it yesterday. A couple of the heads have drooped and have not responded to the Sun at all whereas the other heads are growing upright.
I've dead headed the drooping flowers and hope new ones will grow in their place.
Have I done the right thing?

Did you soak the rootball before planting?. Tease out a few roots so they can explore the surrounding soil? Drooping heads to me mean lack of water. Removing flower heads now will not get flowers later.
The rootball was soaking before I planted it and it's gone in a pot in good compost for a couple of weeks before planting in the ground. Like I said some of the flowers are thriving. I'll keep an eye on it and keep my fingers crossed :-)
