Can I put aphids in the compost bin?

I pruned a lot of new growth of a friend's shrub and want to put it in my compost bin but it's covered in black fly. Will I be causing problems for myself down the line?
Also, when they say to spray aphids with 'soapy' water does washing up liquid do the trick?
Must say I've never known a year as bad as this for the little sap-suckers!!

Yes, no problems with putting blackfly in the compost bin - best place for them
Soapy water is just a few drops of washing up liquid in a spray - but just a few drops is all that's needed.

Thanx Peter, that's what I've been doing but as there's so many I wanted to be sure!!
A good way to get our own back! Rather than sucking the life out of your plants they will decay and end up feeding your plants - that's a result!
I use a 500ml spray with tap water and 5-6 drops of washing up liquid as a spray

Hmm, think I've been using too much!
I do the same with slugs and snails, put them in the compost bin - I get the material composted quicker and they're in feeding heaven hehe
I don't bother with the soapy water and spray ... just turn the hose pipe on them if the birds and ladybirds aren't doing the job.
