Droopy Cordyline

in Plants
My cordyline looks so sad - I bought it over a month ago in a much smaller pot than the one it's currently in. Any ideas what's up, the leaves are drooping and turning brown. Could it be the pot is too small, or because it's in a shaded area (I have one in my other garden thats always in the shade and it's fine)

Mine is also getting like yours.
I mentioned it in another post and I was told the pot could be too small and to either get a bigger pot or get it in the ground.
Is their enough drainage in the new pot? I was told to add some grit to the soil before I plant it - so could be a sign of not enough drainage?
Im new to gardening so id wait for someone who actually knows what their talking about to help haha! and ill be following to see if I can rescue mine before it gets any worse!
Cordylines do like sun - and good drainage. There seems to be a lot of stuff in that pot HK and if it is a plastic pot, then it will hold onto moisture even more than a terracotta one, possibly adding to there problem.
It may need a feed and better drainage - they are so often pushed as young plants by sellers, that it may also be pot bound.
I'd lift it gently and have a look, loosening the roots if they are pot bound from before, then repot in a ceramic/terracotta pot with plenty of grit.
By the way, as the newer leaves emerge from the crown, it is normal to have a certain amount of shedding of the older, drier leaves below. You can pull them off once they are dried up and they loosen very easily.
HK yours looks like there is a new leaf emerging at the top!
So does yours Noty
