Primula japonica seedlings and others
I have many Primula japonica seedlings around the base of my plants as you can see. I have held of from weeding here in the hope that they had seeded.
I want to move the seedlings over to another part of the garden I don't intent to prick them out individually, I think that would be too awkward, but to move small clumps of them. However, I am finding other seedlings amongst them an have no idea just which seedlings they are. They would be tricky to thin out without damanging the Primula seedling.
Is anyone able to help with an id? I'd like to know what they are before moving them. I don't want to be moving something unwelcome to the new spot. Also, when would be the best time to do this? Cheers folks.

Bit like Delphiniums, do you have any of those?
No definitely not Delphinium Lyn. But now you mention them I am wondering if they may be Aconitum seedings. Hopefully someone will come along with an alternative suggestion. The suspense is killing me
A bit like hardy geranium. I can't see any Primula seedlings there.
I have those as well, and it it very like them, but I couldn't see them just popping up from nothing.
howabout Astrantia, they are similar when small.
Thanks Logan. Hardy geranium they could be, I've a few of those dotted around the garden. There are Primula seedlings there - bottom picture top right shows one a bit bigger than the rest. I do though stand to be corrected. In the main picture you can see a few more larger ones and one is in fact flowering.
Lyn, like Geranium, I have a few Astrantia around the garden. The Aconitum grows very close to this spot and I was very late in cutting it back last year, the seeds could well have dropped when I was clearing it out.
Thanks again both of you, I'll leave a few and see what transpires.
It's definitely Aconitum then,
Thanks Lyn. I'll keep you updated.
