Lobelia Fanscarlet & Ricon
in Plants
I have just acquired these plants and I wonder if either or both are suitable for bog gardens - i.e. moist soil?

I hope you don't mind me joining your question GD2, I had no luck getting Lobelia Fan Blue through winter before and put it down to winter wet so would be interested to find out if my conclusion was wrong and it might have been something else. They were gorgeous so if not wet I may well try them again.
I have no idea what Ricon is though.
No I don't mind you joining in AngieR but it looks as though no one has an answer for me - I had never heard of Ricon either, but was given it this morning. I thought all lobelias were annuals and mostly blue or white, so I am hoping that someone on here has grown either of these plants. I have just checked them in my RHS plant guide but neither of them feature in there.

Hi
i have grown lobelia fan scarlet in part shade in moist soil. I would not class it as a bog plant as it requires damp but drained soil
Thanks greenfingers steve - I had a feeling that it would not tolerate a wet all the time bog - and you have verified that for me - I will have to rethink my original plans.
I would chrissieB but our camera is out of action at the mo. I have planted it. It grows quite tall and apparently it has a reddish brown seed pod later in the season and then dies right down.. I too googled it, but nothing came up. Odd.
Maybe my original supposition was correct then.
