aquilegia and geranium seeds

I've collected some aquilegia and hardy geranium seeds, when is best to sow them? fresh or dried? Any tips on bet results v welcome thanks in advance

    Fresh and in trays or modules so you can see what's what and grow them on in safety.

    Aquilegias are notoriously promiscuous so you may get a desired parent or some wonderful new form or colour combo or you may just get the muddy pink they eventually produce.   Good luck.

    You have to wait until both types of seed have gone brown in the pods. Mine are only just flowering. I harvest seed off of these around July time. They can be sown then to form small seedlings to overwinter in a cold frame, or next spring. Spring germination may take up to eight weeks, two or three weeks longer than sowing in August.  Seed taken off  when green is unlikely to germinate.
