Trying to learn about Roses - Suckers maybe!?

  • Ah, ok thanks-I did wonder as there were quite a few branches with seven leaves... But it's interesting to know suckers can appear above the graft, I suppose you are just looking for something very different from the rest? Great link Dovefromabove, lots of good stuff there, thanks!

    no, suckers can't come from above the graft.

    If a rose is grafted, the bit below the graft is one species, anything from that is a sucker. The bit above the graft is the cultivated rose you bought, anything from above that graft is your rose. Number of leaflets is irrelevant
