Does it do anything interesting after flowering or should I just remove the dead blossom?

In London. Keen but lazy.

Just forms a foil for other planting B3 - as far as I can remember. I never bothered removing the spent flowers - the wind  usually did it for me!   image

Hmm. I'll leave it in the pot then so I can put it out of the way when it's not doing its thing .

    Thanks fairyimage

I don't think they have glorious autumn colour  or anything either - butit may depend on the variety you have. It's a long time since I've had one, but thye're fairly straightforward for care and pruning etc as far as I can recall. I didn't grow them in pots though, so that will make  a bit of a difference in terms of care.

B3,  is the pot big enough to accommodate a small clematis which could grow through the Deutzia?

not really. I bought it cheap and small last year. It'll go another couple of years in the largeish pot. It's nice enough for a couple of weeks. Now it looks pretty boring.

I could put the pot near a clematis though. It's lurking behind the hostas at the moment.

I angle clematis so that  some of it grows through a large pot with a four foot high dwarf lilac.
