Plants that flower in May?

amy.terryamy.terry Posts: 1

Hi everyone! I'm a total newbie to this forum but thought I'd join up for some advice.

Basically we lost one of our beloved chinchillas yesterday and are burying her in the garden. We'd love to plant a beautiful flower that will bloom around this time (May/June) every year to remember her.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what we could plant? It can be any colour, shape, size etc., but of course we want it to look as pretty as possible. Thanks very much!

Many of the Alliums such as aflatunense flower at this time of year. They have  ball headed flowers like purple pom poms.   Aquilegias and Peonies are also good flowerers at this time of year.

A visit to a garden centre will provide you with lots of plants in flower now.

    Hi Amy,

Very sorry to hear that you have lost your dog.

What about planting a cluster of Asiatic Lilies. They come in an abundance of colour including, orange, red, yellow and white and will flower from end of May to June

So sad when a beloved pet goes. Treat yourself to a trip to a garden centre, as Hosta suggested, and see what stands out as being appropriate. I'm sure you will find something that suits - be it delicate and sweet or bold and bright.

My garden and I live in South Wales.
