Hayter mowers are pants........

I bought a Hayter Harrier 41 mower - top of the recommended - and £600. After three seasons (out of warranty!) the variation seized up and it cost another £117 to get it replaced plus belts. So, after three years of servicing at over £100 a time this top of the range mower has cost me the equivalent of two thirds of a new one...............

When I was doing contract gardening, I bought nothing but Hondas, never had a single problem with any of them.

I bought a John Deere ride on 3 years ago for more than I've ever paid for a car and it's a pile of plap. I wish I'd gone with instinct and bought another Honda.

    Devon.

David - if you have an issue with the mower and it's quality,  or reliability, it's better to contact the company.

I bought a Hayter ride on tractor mower at least 15 years ago and it's still going strong! I think it was about £1200 at the time which seemed a huge amount of money then. My husband does an annual service and has replaced a few parts.  It's been very good.

Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.

A rather different machine. You are lucky to be able to do your own repairs and servicing. I am a 77 year old pensioner who thought he was buying "quality". My last mower is still going at over twenty years!
