Wonderful memories

Bee GBee G Posts: 33

This week my dad appeared with this book. It belonged to my grandmother, who would have been 100 this week. She loved gardening and I've been transported back to watching her tend her beautiful borders as a child. The book is wonderful-packed with illustrations, photos and information. A real gift to treasure ❤ It's a readers digest  and I'm sure many of you will have it also :-)image

That is really special. I have my Grandmother's Reader's Digest Encyclopaedia of garden plants and flowers and I am very fond of it. I can remember it being on her coffee table, often with newspaper cuttings about plants. There are a couple of the newspaper cuttings and hand written notes in side the book, which I use to bookmark pages. I am sure you will smile every time you see your lovely book Bee G.

I have that book Bee G. It's been one of my favourites for many years ... Some of the planting associations illustrated in if are really lovely; I used to know one of the artists who illustrated the book.

I have that book too. I also have one called Food from your Garden which was my veg growing Bible when I started, over 40 years ago.
