Suitable narrow hedging plant
in Plants
I have just had a large shed removed from the garden which is great as I now have more planting space....
However, it has exposed my garden to view from all sides so I am looking for a screen plant to grow alongside the 1.6m fence and pop over the top. I think something that grows to around 2 -2.5m or can be pruned to that would be great. I intend to plant them in troughs so i could get higher troughs and smaller plants I guess.
I would really like it to be a narrow screen so I can fit a table on the patio that will exist there.
The spot is sunny but also sheltered.
If anyone could suggest something I would appreciate it, if it happens to be scented even better....
(would lilacs be too busy and/or difficult in a pot)?
thank you all

I've never seen a lilac in pot, but I know there are smaller, shrub varieties like Syringa Microphylla - not sure how much they'd like a pot life though.
Does it have to be a hedge or shrub? What about a clematis from the group that doesn't need pruning? There are scented versions.
A common jasmine may work too - some are pretty much evergreen in warmer areas.
