I really do fancy this challenge as it is a stunning plant.

    I did!

It grew into a large plant and wasn't especially problematical to look after, but after 15 years I gave up on it  as I couldn't get it to flower. My brother gave me a plastic flower which I stuck amongst the leaves, but it never showed any sign of having a real one!

I have seen them growing here, but mostly in greenhouses facing south.  I have never tried growing them but I would be interested to know if you succeed Frank.

My mum did, easy to grow and it flowered after about three years, I've got it now but only manage to get two flowers at a time on it.

I haven't tried it myself Frank, but then I like the instant joy of having a plant rather than having to wait several years for a flowering specimen. When I was in Australia I could only marvel at the massive plantings in the area of Sydney round the Opera House and the hundreds of amazing flowers. Its well named!

Oh Lyn, tell us your secrets - is your BofP inside or out, heated or unheated, in a pot or flower bed? I must look for some seeds next time I'm at the G.C.
