Hydrangea problem

My two hydrangeas are under attack! Initially I thought it was a bit of frost damage so wasn't worried but now the whole thing is clearly unwell and all the leaves are turning brown and crispy. I've noticed the same thing happening to neighbours bushes.
Had a quick look on line and it could be a number of things - pest/viral etc - any ideas and how do i treat it?

thstar ...... can you post a photo to give us a few more clues please .... if the photo won't upload at first, try reducing the size ... that usually works
