Dying bonsai tree

Recently got a bonsai tree, had it about a month, and it already doesnt look right. No idea of type! Leaves are wilting and dropping. at first I thought it just needed a good water so watered it plenty but it hasn't picked up at all. Or perhaps it is just shedding? Gave it a good water about a week ago and this morning it looks like this. Ihouse it is hot weather at the moment, plant is inside, in shade.
Many advice appreciated.
Thanks

Does not look happy at all
You may be able to save it by putting it outside in the shade and keeping it well watered.
It's possible that it needs repotting as well.
It also depends on what the tree is,many people think that they need to be kept indoors but this is only true for non-hardy varieties. My bonsai stay outside all year round.
There are many bonsai trees that are not meant to be grown as in indoor plant. Im not sure what plant yours is but it may be suited to being outdoors as madpenguin states. it could be overheating. It may also need a feed!
The soil looks dry and shrunk away from the side of the pot. Put it in a shallow basin of water and let it draw up the water until the top is moist. Will take a few hours. Then pop it outside in a shaded place and keep your fingers crossed.
Brilliant. Thank you all very much, i definiently will do.
Will post on on here in a while with follow up pics
thanks
