My neighbour has a Viburnum Snowball that overhangs our adjoining fence, it's in full flower at the moment and looks (and smells) beautiful. It's also a fantastic habitat for caterpillars.
How about lilac tree? There is a dwarf one which grows to 3m and the normal one which grows between 10-12 feet. They are pretty and not too unmanageable

Theirs is evergreen and doesn't seem to be getting any bigger, at about 2.5 metres in height and spread. [https://www.rhs.org.uk/Plants/82128/Viburnum-opulus-Roseum/Details]
Another tree that's got the most amazing bark is the mahogany-barked cherry tree, it's like someone has wrapped it in shiny brown tape! [https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/details?plantid=1551]
