Sedum Autumn Joy in pots?

CraighBCraighB Posts: 758

Hi there,

I have 2 huge clumps of sedum autumn joy in my borders but they just aren't working with everything else but I don't want to get rid of them.

Will they be ok in containers? What compost would they need as I read they like quite poor soil?

Thanks

I often have them languishing in pots Craig....image

I have clumps of them which I've acquired at various times., and bits fall off which I just stick in pots randomly. They're quite happy in any bit of soil as long as it's free enough draining. I really don't do much to any of mine and they don't seem to mind - just as well! image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Yes, treat them mean keep them keen !   Having said that, I have a clump with variegated leaves and it's looked very sad with our dry weather.  This morning it's perked up and looks like a new plant, all due to a good downpour in the night.

Fantastic I've got a big terracotta pot I think they will look lovely in next year. they are in quite a thin border and look out of place with the rest of the planting. I forgot just how big they get!
