Black currant in pot

I am trying to grow some soft fruit in pots and have got 3 blackcurrant plants, how big a pot for each plant? Variety is wellington I think? Any advice as new to fruit growing thanks

    I would say the biggest you can manage and 60cms minimum wide and deep.  Put drainage crocks in the bottom and then fill with John Innes no 3 mixed with about 1/4 of MPC for moisture retention.  They should then be good for 2 or 3 years before they need re-potting but you will need to maintain moisture levels with regular watering and food supplies with a spring supplement of blood, fish and bone and an occasional liquid feed of liquid tomato food to encourage flowers and fruit.

    A suggestion for picking fruit that automatically renews the plant - cut out each fruited stem and then sit in comfort holding the stem upside down to remove the fruit.  This way you will always have new fruiting stems and maximum cropping.

    Thanks obelixx I have 3 plants I assume they each need their own pot?

    Yes - one per pot and if you prune to pick the way I suggest you control size.
