Birds of paradise plant help

I have been growing a birds of paradise plant for around two years now and have always had it on the window ledge, I repotted it not that long ago and have turned the plant around as it had grown on a curve because of been drawn to the sunlight, I have another stem coming through now which is growing the opposite way to the rest, is it better to turn the plant back around or will the plant straighten up over time? I will try and upload a photo to shOw what I mean

It should straighten up and once it does give the plant pot a quarter turn each week and this should keep it growing straight.
