Pandorea Jasminiodes

i bought one of these today after being told by a member of the garden centre staff it was winter hardy outside. I have now read up on this and it would appear this is not the case! My question is if I plant it outside in a container with an obelisk over it can I prune it early autumn quite hard to bring indoors to hopefully survive. It is classed as a vigorous climber.
