Tall plants for pots

I have three large pots on my drive to mark between the spaces I want people to park.  At the moment they have small hydrangers in but you cant see them from the car so I am looking for something tall but not too bushy to replace them with.  They need to live in the pots all year.  can anyone recommend anything.

    How about some grasses. Tall, skinny, low maintenance and tough.
