Wisteria help

Hi ... I was very lucky enough to have some beautiful wisteria flowers from my wisteria that I purchased last year .. it's being grown over my summer house and isn't huge but seems to be doing really well ... I read loads on pruning etc but I'm not unsure what to do with the long shoots left from the flowers? Do I cut them off now ? If so where ? They look odd just hanging there where the flowers and petals were ... ive tried everywhere to get the answer but no one seems to have mention what to do with the flowers once the petals have fallen from them ... thanks in advance for any help ..

I have cut mine off because I needed to cut back the whole plant but otherwise it's not necessary except to tidy it up or prevent it wasting energy on seeds.  For the maintenance pruning in July and January/Feb, see here - https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?pid=242

I have had wisteria flower buds that resembles raspberrys for around 2 weeks now.  Should they not now be flowering? They don't appear to be doing much.

Its in a small pot as im training it as a bonsai, that said it does get regular watering.

  • Mine flowered and then petals dropped and now I have  long stems where the flowers were just wondering if I cut these off now ?

If you think they look odd, cut them off.  It won't harm the plant.
