Rain and Water butts

Last night we finally had enough rain (in Wiltshire) to nearly refill my four 200 litre water butts (well--only 2 were empty and the other 2 only about 3/4 down but now nearly all full).  I've gone out and filled all my watering cans/buckets/trugs so they have room to collect even more of the rain expected this week.    Hoping everyone else has had a measurable amount as well.

I could do with another day or so of rain and then I'd like it to be warm and sunny for a few weeks (if any weather gods are reading the forum).  Then another few overnight showers and back to sunny and repeat.

(It'll probably just keep raining and raining until we're tired of it now. Weather gods seem to be of "feast or famine" mindset. )

Just enough rain to settle the dust here. The soil is dry to at least 8" down in areas where it's not been watered. We've not had any significant, sustained rain since November and we had a very dry 3 months prior to that.

I have 4 200l butts empty, and just one 100l one full. We've had about 15 mins of rain in total during the last few days. It is forecast for showers 12-8 tomorrow so I hope it really does rain and I can collect some. I drove my husband to the train station in the next town on Friday and they had massive puddles everywhere..... i didn't even get a drop!!

Oh no.  I feel your pain.  I was looking at the forecast anxiously and on Friday I was gardening in someone else's garden in another town and it rained heavily and I got home and it was bone dry.  I was relieved after last night.  Are you all in the south east?

Yes, Watery I'm in the south east.

All ours are now full here - we must have had a good amount of rain last night. It's forecast to stay somewhere between wet and damp all week. Better go out and get the grass cutting finished....
