Delphinium help?

image

Hi, does anyone know why my delphinium's leaves have turned yellow/ brown- is there anything I can do to stop this?

Basically, they are one plant I will not have in my garden as they are hard work. Slugs, wet soil, dry soil , staking just to name a few.

    Best Of luck ????

Im a novice gardener and have inherited a beautiful cottage garden- they were fine last year, but this year not so much- will see what happens to them!

Mine only survive if they are potted up and placed in the 'plant intensive care' area until nearly in flower - they are placed in border still in the pots then. The leaves are very tender and with the recent frost, hail, bright sun and winds - they probably had a hard time of it.

If they are established and were fine last year then it's probably the dry weather this spring not suiting them. As Pansy says, they'll be fine.

I wonder though Pansy, would you maybe give them a bit of a feed just to boost them a bit? I have a few in my garden and they seem happy with minimal interference from me, but I do mulch that border so they are quite well fed. Not sure if that's actually necessary though. I do it for the rose that next to the delphiniums....
