My neighbour gave me some seeds from her lovely foxgloves which seed themselves and pop up every year. I sowed - nothing.
I bought a foxglove, kept it in a pot mid-border until Oct then abandoned it to the back patio. Within 2 months I had hundreds of seedlings coming up through the paviors. I prised them out with a toothpick and 5 month later I've got dozens in bud.

Treat them mean, keep them keen !
I think a lot of people's trouble with seeds is too much interference. Let them get on with what they do best all by themselves
