The label said full sun, but as I was newly moved into the house, I didn't take note of the direction of sunrise/sunset, and overanxious to get planting, I planted it where it receives sun first thing in the morning for about 3 hours, it's in shade from the wall and shed the rest of the day. Slugs love it though, but I use pellets, can't be doing physically killing them myself, I'm very squeamish, and don't like the idea of night hunting slugs.
My sunny south area of the garden, 4 years of work done on it...........Dahlias, Astrantia, Sunflowers in front of trellis, Diablo Ninebark, just finished flowering, small Acer, perennial catmint, purple flowers all summer long, loved by bees, Black Elder, I cut it to 2 foot from the ground every year. Lupins, not in flower as I took flower buds off, plants are only 1 year old, very young, foxgloves finishing, will self seed. All perenials except the Acer and sunflowers.
My borders are very 'gappy' as I'm trying to decide what perennials I want too, I love flowers, I don't just want to shove any old shrub in. But it is improving every year.
I know, it has been raining a lot here the last few days, badly needed for newly plants out annuals. I'm living in the South West of Ireland, Limerick, so I know all about how changeable the weather can be
Just been to do a food shop. planters in my garden are blown over . A tall tree I have Ina pot has blown over . And I look like a scarecrow. I do hope this isn't a sign of things to come fo this summer.
I have purchased mixed herb plants. In the past I haven't done very well with them. I intend to plant them In a large trough. Can anyone tell me if I should plant them in agood compost or a mixture of garden and bought compost? Also position and care . -------

Hi! Mary .
Thank you . Will look for bears breeches when i next go to the garden centre.
The weather here in Yorkshire is very wet . I know we need it. It would be lovely if it rained at night and not during the day .?
