Please can someone name this plant for me? It's pretty straggly and woody and I wonder what's best to do to look after it? Thank you folks!
That looks like a Potentilla fruticosa.

I'd give it a feed of Fish Blood and Bone.
They don't usually need a lot of pruning but if it needs reshaping late autumn is the time.
might it be Potentilla Primrose Beauty?

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
