yup top one fox glove dont think second is a poppy, I have got lots of poppies the oriental ones have grey green leaves that look like some kind of cabbage till they flower, you may have to wait until it flowers and try us again.
Are you thinking of opium poppies Nanny? Oriental (perennial) poppies have green and often hairy leaves. There are nearly 800 species of plants we call poppies so it's never easy to identify one!

First one is a foxglove. The second one I'm not so sure about but the bud looks like it may be a poppy of some kind.

Poppy does make sense to be honest, we had some that I forgot about last year.
