Clematis help and Advice

hi guys I hope your able to help me, recently Planted 2 clematis, they both had purple leaves to start one of them went green and grew brilliantly for approx 2 weeks 2 pics attached The other is still purple.  The one that went green now seems to be drying out, going brown but I can't figure out what's wrong. The first 2 pics are the plants to show the green and purple the rest are the drying brownish leaves any advice would be much appreciated..

They're dry. Clematis need a lot of water, and it's been very dry recently. Keep them well watered and a mulch afterwards will help retain it.

Darker foliage can also be caused by a bit of cold weather, although montanas sometimes have plummy foliage, and that's what the pink flowered one is.

They've been planted a bit close to the wall - that won't help with moisture retention.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
