Our School Garden Needs Help!
Hi all,
I am currently renovating our primary school garden. I have managed to obtain some pallets which were painted and are being used as shelves for container vegetables. It is all pretty much a container garden.
The wall (15ft x 5ft) needs to be painted but local artists have quoted prices well out of reach of my budget. Can anyone offer some suggestions of what I can paint on the wall, in terms of design/colour? We are thinking something artistic and bright which will stand out as the garden is beside a popular path.
Thanks!
G

Could you get the student involved?
Maybe some brightly colour flowers, trees and animals?
Could use hand prints as petals or leaves?
Hi Rainbowfish,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, we definitely want the students to be involved in the painting. Just a few questions:
What type of paint would be most effective?
Should we use stencils or trying to create the drawings ourselves (this might be difficult as the students are young and I am not very artistic, hence what local artists were considered)
Thanks again
You could use white masonary paint and a kit of letter stencils like

And do various different plant names and hand paint some simple sunflowers
You don't know any local graffitti artists?
You probably won't like this suggestion but I would repaint it white or something neutral and let the garden be the statement.
Have to agree on that.. Besides Banksy is expensive now lol.
+1
Maybe you could contact a local art college and see if their students would join you in a project. They could work with your children to create a design and draw it on the wall and your children you help paint it.
Thanks everyone, local artists have been contacted and we have had several offers!
Thats good then..
