Hi
I bought this plant as a bare root twig last year. It was sold as a buddleia but the leaves do not look like any buddleia I've seen.
Any ideas what it could be?

not a buddleia
Have you a photo of the plant just by itself, no hand?

Is that a flower bud just below centre?
There are many species of buddleia other than those found in GCs but I can't see that as one of them

There doesn't appear to be any flower buds atm. The picture on the box seemed to be the typical davidiii.
I guess I will need to wait fo some flowers to find out What it actually is.
If there are flowers!
Doesn't look like any buddliea to me either. Looks like a random sapling of something. Are those flower buds of something else, or is it more foliage emerging?
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
The bud is from a clematis. I might remove it now while its small. The clematis will be more than happy to fill the space with flowers
Thanks

Im wondering if it might be some form of spiraea?
