Our neighbour had tree bumbles in the roof space above a bedroom window. The 'guards' did their dancing outside the entrance right by an open window, but apparently none went into the bedroom.

Thank you Nut and Dove and others as I have spent some time this morning watching the bees through binoculars and they are definitely tree bees. Fascinating that they land on the grill and all of them only enter through the one opening. Must get on with some work now as they put me to shame with their activity.

Just been reading up about tree bumblebees - so interesting. I will try an identification tomorrow Nutcutlet.
I'm no good at bee ID but I have a friend who is very good.

I think they know where they live Dove, they have very definite routes and the bedroom isn't included.

They're very nice bees. We had a harmonious relationship.
