Can someone please ID this plant? It will literallly make my weekend as every year I see it and can't find it in my reference books. Nearest I get is Gypsywort or some member of the Lamiaceae family. Thanks in advance. Markimage

It is Garlic mustard/Jack by the hedge.  Alliaria Petiolata. A native wild flower and also one of the food plants for the Orange Tip butterfly.image

Fritillary, THANK YOU!! It's bugged me for a few years this one, and about 10 minutes after posting a pic here I have the answer. And a great butterfly plant too, fantastic. image

I'm plagued with this stuff - I get thousands germinating almost all year round.
When young, the leaves make a good addition to a salad - very tender with a hint of garlic

I get a lot of this around the edges of my garden but quite like it so leave them for the butterflies. The orange tip butterflies need quite a few plants as the eggs are laid singly because the caterpillars are cannibalistic.
