I aim to buy a couple of hostas to plant at the pond. But I can't remember if it is the yellowy leaved ones that tolerate full sun or if it is the greeny/blue ones that do. Any help?
Virtually ALL my Hostas are in full sun on a south facing plot.
Many of the "yellows" fade to green if they're in too much shade.
Some whites scorch in full sun, but I've found usually only if they're dry at the roots. They'll take a lot more sun if the ground is moist.
Thank you HF. Off to the garden centre tomorrow!
I saw an absolute beauty at the GC the other day. "Purple Heart" I think it was. Good luck with your hosta search.
