Photinia / Red Robin
Hi - I bought a very healthy Photinia shrub last year which stood about 1m each way.It was repotted into a larger pot (about 60cm diam) and has grown - but the last 2 months it is looking very unwell. The leaves are drooping considerably, although they still remain on the stems. The branches are limp and lifeless so i have gently tied them to bamboo canes.
The soil seems fine - it has been fed and doesn't seem waterlogged or too dry.
The only thing I can think of is that it has been damaged during the high winds where it almost blew over and snapped (although only one thin branch did this).
New buds are coming through, but I am concerned about the general overall health of the plant, and wonder if anyone has any advice about what to do?
Thanks ...
PS am a novice, and this is only my second year of having my own garden

Move it somewhere that it won't dry out too quickly, and out of any drying winds as well. That's the most likely reason for it wilting - too dry. You also need a soil based compost if it's going to be in the pot long term - ordinary multi purpose compost will dry out far too quickly. The amount of top growth it will put on will be a struggle for the roots to keep hydrated in a container, especially when it's been such a long dry spell almost everywhere. Feeding it means it will be trying to grow more, so you might be making the problem worse
They're not really ideal for pots in my opinion - and they'd need a decent sized pot to accomodate them. They can be a bit iffy anyway

Thanks @Fairygirl- my plan is to put it into the ground this year, once the garden is done, so hopefully that will solve some problems.
It's difficult to judge without a photo, but many plants are struggling a bit with the long dry spell, and potted plants always need a bit more care
